Testimonial from Navitesh Bhan.
Receiving a Track Day Experience Gift Voucher was more than a birthday surprise for Navitesh.
“I was quite overwhelmed,” he recalls. “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but on the day as soon as we got started it was just awesome for someone who’s a car fanatic.”
Navitesh drives a Mitsubishi Evo X, which he’s always known is a sweet car, but taking it on the track made him realise how much the driver makes the driving experience.
“That’s the good thing about a Track Day gift. It makes you learn more about cars. For me, in my mid-20s, I thought it was all about your car but it’s not just your car, it’s how the driver handles it. You can floor it as much as you want, but if you’re not able to turn wisely and confidently, you’re going to screw up.”
For his mate it was a bucket list moment. “I brought three mates with me, who all wanted to give it a try, but one was quite keen. She’s always wanted to do track driving and she was stoked.”
“Overall, the day was just awesome,” says Navi. “I learned so much. Even following Dan in his car during the last part, I learned so much about speed and how to do corners and how you can gain speed. I would do it again if I had the opportunity.”
Having a DVD of the experience has also been great. “It gets you right back in there when you see it again. Especially the layout because growing up we used to play ‘Need for Speed’ and watching it feels like you’re playing a video game, but it was real. It was live. It was you.”
It’s also been cool to show it off to friends and family, even if they give him a hard time.
“To be honest, my mom thought I was going really slow, but it didn’t feel like I was at the time – especially on the corners,” he says. “They weren’t able to go on the day, but watching the DVD they could see I was having so much fun.”
Asked if he’d recommend it to others, Navi says, “I already have!”
